Rain … rain … and Revenge!
June 5th, 2008 Posted in All About Me, At HomeFor the last few days I have been bored, bored, bored … I think the clouds have been leaking continually and when that happens it means I have to stay inside … except for when I need to relieve myself. Normally this would not be a problem, except when the clouds are leaking, the ground is wet and muddy, and there are several little swimming pools in the yard where someone has been digging holes!
Now who am I to walk past these swimming pools and not have a splash? … Or a roll? … Or a dig?
Before I am allowed back inside, I have to be rubbed down (which I don’t mind too much – kinda like an all over belly rub - except the towel tastes yucky!).
I think there must be a shortage of towels in the house, ’cause I’m sure I heard HH say something about running out!
Here is a summary of my last few days:
Tuesday: Raining and bored.
Wednesday: Raining and bored.
Thursday: Raining and bored . . . EXCEPT I GOT MY REVENGE!
You may remember the other day I told you how Pumpkin played that dirty trick on me? Well … today I found one of her shoes!
Do you think she’ll be angry with me? What if I give her my innocent look?

Hi, Charlie…
Yeah…That rain stuff kind of spoils our fun…Squirrel Hunting is out, & even if you find a pool, the human doesn’t want to you play…They just don’t understand…
As for the shoe thing…I think the innocent look will work just fine…

That’s a good innocent look. I bet it works everytime! When it rains at our house we get to have a bog! right at the bottom of the deck stairs. It’s like a big drinking bowl we can walk in. Hope you get to play in the sun soon.

Charlie,
It is so boring around my place you wouldn’t believe it! My whole week reads pretty much like yours: Boring & CLOUDY/HOT & HUMID!
I wish you could come visit, so I could have some decent company to play with!!!

With that look, you could get away with anything! Good thing you have it on film, so you can practise if you need to!

Hee hee revenge is sweet matie. Well done. Pumpkin will think twice about playing anymore tricks on you.
Yeah we’re pretty much over this rain. I wish I could blow hard enough to push the rain clouds out west where it’s really needed. It always rains in the wrong spots lately.
Have a good long weekend matie.

Hey, Charlie, thanks for visiting our blog again.
We have to say that your innocent face would work 9 times out of 10 here too! Too bad you live so far away or you could come roach with us. Our friend Mona said she would come teach Roxie how to do it.
We aren’t sure what to expect of our sunshine today since it rained just enough to get us all wet this morning. We hope we don’t end up all bored like somedog we know!

Nice work, Charlie. Shoes are tasty and an excellent way to get attention from the humans.

The innocent look only works on shoes (or food) the humans don’t like too much. I don’t like rain too much. But puddles are fun.

Hi Charlie,
You look so…sad:-( and innocent (with that shoe under your paw.) I agree with you on both counts – 1. rain is boring and 2. shoe-destruction is exceptionally rewarding, provided you can get away with it!
I’ve tried the innocent look after chewing books, undergarments, cushion-covers, bedsheets,…even shirt-buttons (of Cameo’s formal-wear shirts!) It works like a charm!
All the best!
Licks and Wags!

BTW, I love the way you talk. I’ll add your link to mine:)
