My weekend …

July 21st, 2008 Posted in At Home, Awards, Days Out, YouTube No Gravatar

Saturday started out to be a good looking day, so I decided I would head outside and soak up some glorious sun.

Well, that wasn’t the only reason I wanted to be outside. On Friday night, well actually early Saturday morning,  I got into a little bit of trouble with HH. I conned her into believing I needed to go outside for a relief stop at 2:30am. She was fairly cool about that. It was just that it took me 45 minutes to do the Very Early Patrol Shift …. oops!

So, I thought if I stayed out of her way for a while in the morning, I might be able to get back into her good books. :dognowink:

Anyway, she didn’t seem to understand that I wanted a comfy rest, so I took one of the good pillows from the lounge with me, and took it for a tour of the WHOLE yard, including “The Snake Pit”, before making myself comfortable …  :dogohmy:

Charlie Daniels - Sleeping with Pillow

Things seemed to calm down a bit after a while, or at least I thought they had. While I was still outside I thought I heard TBU says that ugly sounding word …. B-A-T-H !!!  :doghuh:

It took them a while to get me in there, but in the process I did manage to score several treats!

Charlie Daniels - Bath Time

Here’s a tip for anydog who hasn’t experienced the washing routing yet. When you get really wet, the water seems to make you shrink! How much smaller do I look in that photo?

D’ya wanna see more of my B-A-T-H experience?

OK, so I made it all sound worse than it really was … it wasn’t too bad actually, and both TBU and HH said I was a good boy for being so patient and calm. :dogblush:

The whole incident sapped the energy out of me. I took a really long nap afterwards …

Charlie Daniels - Sleeping

Most of Sunday was taken up with soccer games. It was really cold sitting by the sidelines for 5 hours, but I did get to meet some new friends. Some were more friendly than others.  :dogunsure:

I would also like to thank Oorvi for honouring me with the Arte-y-Pico award. I have already displayed this award in my last post (thanks again Momoko), so I won’t display it again here. (This way I don’t have to list ALL those rules again!)

    WAY COOL CHARLIE!
I\’m glad I\’m not the only one subjected to pink towels. That\’s a great video of you btw. Looks like you had a great weekend with LOADS of adventures!

    Hi CD,
I shrink when I take a bath too? Then I blow up again when I dry. Weird. I like the nap part the best.

I hate that word too! It looked like you were suffering at 1st but then you kind like enjoyed the ear & head rubbing…hehehe!

Bath is a bad word at our house too. What is the “snake pit” it sounds scary.

    Hi Charlie!
Sounds like a pretty good weekend – I love the picture of you carrying the pillow! But does the snake pit have snakes in it?!
    Love Clover xo

Hi Charlie, the bath video was so funny. You got such a long massage with the towel, better than a blow dryer!

    love & wags,

    hey Charlie Daniels,

Good idea taking the soft pillow for your nap. You have such good ideas! I don’t know about sleeping in a snake pit though. I did battle with a few big snakes in Kansas – they can be scary! Sorry you had to suffer through a bath but that rub-down afterwards sure looked like it felt nice! And you got to chew up the towel at the end! How cool is that?

    G’day Charlie mate,
We’re doing well thanks. D is in Sydney staying with her mum for a couple of nights so we’re hanging out with B.
Gosh, we really don’t like bath time at our place. We love the idea of taking a pillow outside. I wonder if the pinkies would notice a couple of pillows missing from the lounge???

    That video totally rocks!
You were being sooo good too.

We all three got baths Saturday. Paris & I went to the barbers shop to get ours and Lilly got hers at our place.

We all slept like a rock afterwards!

At least you get your bath in the tub. Mom just hoses us down in the backyard. Of course Louie thinks it is lots of fun. He loves the drying off stage or the ordeal..
Thanks for your good well wishes for Callie. The house is just way to quiet…

    Hi, Charlie…

I looks like you really like your bath…Especially the drying part…

I hate it when my Mom tries to dry me with a towel…I just shake & run til I’m dry…I use the couch, too…

Then when I’m tired from all the drying, I lay down & my Mom wraps me in a nice warm towel & I take a nap…

Love the bath video Charlie Daniels. The zoomies at the end were priceless.

Oh me Oh my, that’s it, you’ve gone and reminded my people that I’m smelly and in need of a bath!
You gotta do the shake before the pink towel gets to the fur buddy!

Being dried is the best part for us too, Charlie! It feels so good and it means it’s almost over!

    Love ya lots,

    Hi, Charlie!
A bath! Lucky you! I’ve been asking my mom for a bath and she refuses to give me one!
Well, maybe that is because I want a bath everyday!
All that time HH took bathing you and then you go directly to the dirt! That was funny!
    Kisses and hugs

45 minutes wasn’t that long, well, at least to us doggies anyway hehe…

Glad you enjoyed your bath. How come I never get any treats after bath time?

  18. By DeeforNo Gravatar on Jul 22, 2008

You were so calm for that bath! And the drying. I don’t want my mom seeing that video. She’s afraid to give me a bath. The humans have to hold me down and when it’s over I roll around the house drying. And I’m fuzzy so they want to brush brush brush– I bite bite bite. Now they take me to a groomer every 3 weeks.

    Good work getting dirty again.

It is avoided by a dog smell and a human being, and it is disliked by a soap smell and a dog.

    Hi CD–

Nice going, Sport. You have smart tactics for getting out when it’s not on the official schedule! Night times are real interesting.

I nominated you for a special award…check out my blog to see!

And yes, I got the points for the assist in nabbing that fly!

    Your pal,

    Hi again Charlie.
You would really like my Australian Shepherd cousin, Sheila. Her full name is Sheila Matilda Merle Hart and her birthday is this Sunday. She’ll be seven. Are you willing to have a long distance relationship with an older woman?
I know she would be up for it.

I’ve managed to keep my fluffy tail out of that kind of torture!

    Sorry you got snagged!!

You are such a good boy when taking your bath. You mum is very thorough when dry you. I love the picture of you bringing the pillow out to the yard to sleep and be comfy. You sure know how to enjoy life.

Charlie Daniels-baths are horrible! I hate them! But for some reason mom laughs when she gives me a bath-I think it’s because I try to climb out of the bathtub! At least the water is warm! I can understand you being exhausted and taking a nap after your bath experience!
