Soccer is finished for the year …

August 17th, 2008 Posted in At Play, Days Out No Gravatar

Today was the last time I get to go and watch soccer for the year ’cause Moo, Pumpkin and Chook’s teams didn’t manage to make it to the finals, so I made sure I had a good time while I was there.

When we first arrived, I met some new friends named Molly and Buster. They live with some friends of TBU.

Charlie at the Soccer

In this photo I am standing with HH, Buster is with Laura and Molly is with Mark. I think there might be something wrong with Molly and Buster ’cause when they are off leash they don’t run away. They stay close by and if they do wander they return when called! What’s the go with that?  :dogblink:

I also met another new friend, but I can’t remember what it’s name was.  I didn’t really even get close enough to check whether it was a boy or a girl.  Come to think of it, I didn’t even get the opportunity for a formal introduction, so I can’t tell you what it’s butt smelt like! I guess we aren’t the best of friends then.  :dognowink:

Because we were at the soccer grounds for 4 hours today, I got a little bit bored every now and then, so HH and TBU took me for walks every now and then.

One of my favourite parts of watching the soccer is my special treat I get to enjoy if I am really good. HH pours some Red POWERade in a cup for me and I get to drink like humans do! People look at me in a strange way when I do this … maybe it’s because they don’t know how to drink from cups … or maybe it’s because they haven’t ever seen a dog drink from a cup before …  :dogblush:

… but mosty I just sat and watched the games.  :dogwub:

So Charlie, what are you going to do on the weekends now?? Maybe your pinkies could bring you to Leura. We could go for a walk.

Wow, happy yet sad day. Looks like you had a Great Adventure! That was nice of Moo, Pumpkin and Chook not to make the finals so they could spend more time with you. You look really cool drinking from the cup. People were probably jealous you had red powerade, that’s all.

Well you looked like you had a nice day! It’s a pity soccer is over… Is there anything new happening on your weekends now or do you have to stay at home?

Don’t worry about the cup drinking… I drink from a cup all the time! Our humans are the best!

Well, now that soccer is over that means spring and summer is right around the corner and new adventures for you. My son plays golf and wrestles so I can’t take the dogs to watch. When he was in football and baseball I would take the dogs to his games. Everyone loved when the big boys came and hung out.

Well Charlie, the plus side of soccer finishing is, you’ll have more time to chew things up and make a mess (much more fun than watching the bi peds run around after a ball).
    Love George

How do you keep yourself from jumping about and screaming on these days? I’d be shrieking with excitement!

    Hi, Charlie!
It is not funny that the soccer season is over! You need to find another activity for the weekends!
Good job drinking from the cup!
    Kisses and hugs

    Hi Charlie!
You were so cute drinking from the cup and watching the soccer game! I am sorry it is over now – hope there is another fun activity coming up that you enjoy.

Four hours of ball sounds kind of boring. At least you got to meet up with your pals and drink the special human juice.

CD, that sucks that you don’t get to watch soccer anymore! There will be lots of other things you’ll get to do on the weekends wont there?? I sure hope so!

you look just like a human sitting there watching soccer and drinking out of the cup. You are so well behaved!

Charlie you lucky dog! I’d love to go to a soccer match or any kind of match really.
I’ll have to ask mummy if we can. Probably won’t be till summer though because I get too cold outside this time of year.
Tassie is very cold, I can see snow on the mountains when I look out the window. Brrrr

    hey Charlie Daniels,

Sorry your younger bi-peds won’t be advancing to the finals in soccer. That is a bummer for them. But hey, at least that frees up your week-ends and you can go figure out what is wrong with Molly and Buster. Dogs that don’t wander and come when called? What’s up with that?! Doesn’t sound like dog behaviour to me.

Cool that you can drink out of a human cup. And the human juice you got sounded like it was pretty good!

yeah, there is definitely something wrong with those other dogs if they don’t run off!! :dogunsure:

Maybe you and your human pups can still play soccer at home???

Mom thinks the HD’s can wait to but her boss doesn’t. She thought she had better take care of to keep her job..

Sorry the season is over. But 4 hours seems like a really long time to hang around. You are very good with that cup. I see humans who dribble more.

    Hi Charlie,

I think they watch you because you look cute drinking from the cup! Humans can’t ever look that cute drinking from a cup so I guess they are jealous!

That last picture of you watching the game is great. You actually look as though you are really concentrating on it, even if you aren’t too keen on anything but the ball. Or maybe you are looking for a chance to steal the ball?

  25. By The FleasGangNo Gravatar on Aug 21, 2008

Too your season is over. But there’s always next year! Plus, this probably means that they will be home more now and that means more time with you!!

I’m sorry you don’t get to go to soccer any more this year, but there is always next year!

The look in your eye tells me that drink is GOOD! Maybe you can enjoy some more red drink even if you don’t get to go to soccer!

    Charlie –

I am sorry that soccer is over for the year – I think they should have just kept playing on for you!
