Bolo! What did you do …

October 12th, 2008 Posted in All About Me, At Home No Gravatar

Yesterday my friend Bolo said:

“Maybe I should practice tail wagging, just so they know I’m happy to see them. Charlie Daniels, if you should happen to get a HUGE storm in the next day or so, it might be my tail causing a Butterfly Effect. I’ll apologize in advance. Sorry.”

Well … he must have done one hell of a practice session! Not long after he started, my home was nearly struck by lightning! I got really scared when, all of a sudden, there was an unexpected simultaneous bright flash and an almighty thunderous crack of thunder. Fair dinkum, I thought someone had set a bomb off under my bottom.

It happened while Chook, Moo, Pumpkin and I were watching a movie on the idiot box.

Luckily they were with me at the time, ’cause Pumpkin said my heart was going a kabillion miles an hour afterwards, and you have to promise not to tell anyone, but I cried a little bit!

We had no electricery or water for the next 9 hours … and it was pitch black everywhere, well except for the few candles My Bi-Peds had to light!

Roadwork at 2am

I know you can’t see much in that photo, but either could I !!  That was the workmen trying to fix everything in the dark at 2:00am. Apparently the lightning hit a transformer on a power pole then went into the ground and exploded the water pipes.

Really, the only good thing to come out of the whole thing, was I got to do a very very very very very early possum patrol at 2am.

Thanks Bolo!  :dogwink:

We had a few of those thunders before. It’s kinda fun when the electricity goes out but only in the evening becoz it means, we can go for car rides! Whee!

That sounds like it was terrible! And then it was a backlash on Bolo because he ended up in the hospital. Scary weekend. Those possums are truly aliens.

Crikey Charlie, that sounds like one doozy of a storm matie. We had a small storm too with some loud cracks of thunder. Tess was a bit of a baby but D totally ignored her and she came right.

    hey Charlie Daniels,

Wow! Your friend Bolo must have super powers in his tail! To whip up both wind and thunder! Pretty impressive! I love storms. I was in a few tornadoes and actually wanted to be outside during the heaviest part of the storm. My human thought I was nuts. Hey, it got Toto to a pretty fun place!

Anyway, isn’t night patrol fun? That is when the best animals come out. Your 2 a.m. possum patrol looked cool. I bet you caught them off guard!

That yearbook thing creeped me out. I MUST try it.

Bipeds need to snuggle with you as long as you require.
