Molly … Molly … Molly …
September 14th, 2009 Posted in Days Out, VimeoHH & TBU knew yesterday was going to be very hot … so we all awoke really early and headed to the beach before it got too hot …
We were only going to stay for a little while, ’cause the soft sand at the beach tires me out very quickly, and my dodgy back legs make it hard to walk or run too far …
However … today Molly decided she was going to overcome her shyness and be really friendly with every human and dog she encountered …
Look at her there .. with her “come and play” with me grin! Don’t get me wrong … I am really proud of her for finally being brave and introducing herself to other dogs without me having to be the chaperone ….
But ….
I think it all went to her head …
I was allowing her to run around and have fun … while keeping any eye on her all the time …
but she decided to join a group of other dogs who were walking with three humans … and just ran and walked and ran and walked … and kept on running and walking and running and walking … until I couldn’t see her anymore!
By the time I realised she wasn’t gonna come back on her own … I had to convince TBU to come with me while I searched for her … and searched for her … and once I could see her … follow her while barking out telling her to come back …
Now this is the part where I started to get very unhappy with her, (and more importantly, the ignorant humans she was exploring with!!!) as by this time my back legs were already telling me it was time to go home … BUT … I had two walk 2 kilometres down the beach (nearly 1.5 miles) until we could catch up with them.
Surely doggy owner etiquette would suggest if humans had walked that far with a dog that didn’t belong to them … who had her name on her collar … who they patted every now and then … and they could hear me barking her name … and looked around every time TBU called her name and whistled (and believe me he can whistle very loudly) … would stop until we could catch up to them …. but no … they just kept walking ….
If you would like to view the moving picture of our day (below) … you can actually see this group of dumb humans as they walk past … (I had to get TBU to try a new video streaming method for this one, as U-TUBE! decided to strip the soundtrack from it when he uploaded it – and the moving picture just wouldn’t work without the soundtack).
Turn up your volume to watch this one and sit back and relax! It goes for a little while!
Once we finally had Molly with us … of course we had to walk the whole way back again didn’t we!
When we got home, we didn’t really do much for the rest of the day! My Bi-Peds gave me some doggy pain medication and I really just felt like sleeping and sleeping and sleeping … I think Molly was very exhausted, coz she slept heaps too!
I made sure she couldn’t get away this time!
… and tonight I made sure she was locked in …. just in case!
Sometimes I wonder why I convinced My Bi-Peds to keep her!

Oh my, Charlie, what an ADVENTURE! I hope Molly doesn’t do that again… And if she does, when you have your leg over her on the couch give her a little “gift” involving extra smell…! BOL!

Wow Charlie, that’s quite the Adventure – except maybe for the all that water – it’s like a huge bath. Hope your leggies feel better – Mom is sending healing vibes your way because she loves you and is worried about you she says. Sheesh, Moms.
Molly, you really should listen to Charlie, he knows what it’s all about.
Nose Kisses to everyone! -Bolo

That sounds scary. Poor Charlie having to walk so far. The same thing happened to me at the dog park (except I saw it happen and I was SHOUTING at the dumb people). Dexter ran off after some people going into the woods. Boom! Gone and even as I was RUNNING after them and YELLING they still didn’t stop). IODIOTS.

There are some pretty thick humans out there. Honestly……
We’re so glad you alerted your pinkies to the fact that Molly had wondered off with dumb and dumber. Thank goodness you finally caught up with them.
Molly is lucky to have such a good big brother.

Hi, Charlie!
You need to have a serious talk with Molly!
It is nice that she is friendly but she needs to learn to come back when you call her since those humans did not do it!
I hope your legs are ok!
Kisses and hugs
