Rory went on trial at what he hoped would be his ForEver Home on Saturday 13 December 2008.
We are happy to say he is very happy there and will be staying.

My Name is Rory. I live in Newcastle Australia.
I am a strong and handsome Mastiff? – Boxer?. I may only be seven weeks old, but I like to think I am all grown up.
I have just moved in, with a Red Heeler and a Kelpie pup. Over the next few days, I will figure out where I fit in the pack.
After a few days of settling in, it seems I had a bit to learn. My Big Red Heeler friend can assure you that I now have manners. I’m good at sharing. I like a bit of rough and tumble play, but when It all gets too much, or I am too tired, I tend to run towards the nearest warm set of hands.
It turns out, I am very good at finding all those bones the Big Boy lost a long time ago and when he wants them back I eventually let him have them. I am developing quite a good sense of humour, but I still like to try to be boss of the game sometimes!

Rory Update: 4 January 2008
Our boy is now 12.5 kilos and will be bigger than our girl Lilli very soon.
Rory has discovered he likes to swim at the Dog Beach and at Redhead. He loves going in the car and gets very upset if we go out without him. When we go for a walk Rory wants to say hello to everyone along the way. He has been recognised in the street as the dog from the Hunter Animal Rescue website.
Rory doesn’t have to jump up to the side of the bed to wake us up in the morning-we just see his bright eyed face and furiously wagging tail.
Rory is well into the chewy stage but we keep him well supplied with rawhide chews and a wide variety of toys. He enjoyed the wrapping paper at Christmas like all babies do. He also likes to move things-towels, the phone, shoes, kid’s toys. He doesn’t chew these; just relocates them. He is great with the children, our other dogs, and the horses.
Thank you so much for fostering our Rory – he is a wonderful pup. We will start puppy pre-school soon and then dog training at Hillsborough Road. I’m sure Rory would love to see you guys.
Cheers. The carlton Family.
