Stormy …

Finally we got some rain today to help wash away some of the dirt the Martians left behind on their recent visits.  :dogwacko:

However … it came in the form of a thunderstorm and Molly doesn’t like thunderstorms … So HH insisted she should put her pyjamas on to help her feel safe …

Molly Daniels

… but she still tried to make herself as small as she could and close her eyes tightly so she couldn’t see the lightning!

Me?

Charlie Daniels

They don’t worry me as much … so I just tried to bury my head under a pillow!

Hey!  In other news …

Green Roof

… the big green roof came one step closer today!  :dogcool:

Hi … it’s me … Molly Daniels …

When I woke up this morning …  my right ear felt a little weird … so Charlie checked it out for me …

What do you think?  Does it suit me?

Charlie Daniels

I love my new pyjama coat HH made me. She makes the best coats.  It is really soft and and warm and I have the best dreams when I wear it.  Luckily for me it is still really cold here, so I get to wear it again tonight!

In other news … I did some detective work today … when Molly and I were out in the yard … and I caught Molly eating some not quite ripe Mulberries that had blown over the fence from our neighbours tree … and guess what?  She is a little bit windy again tonight!  No where near as bad as yesterday … but maybe she had a lot more of them yesterday!

I wonder if this means we might get lamb bones again?    :dogunsure:

The Martians came back to visit us again on yesterday …

Dust Storm 26 September 2009

It wasn’t as bad as the other day, but you can see the sky still looked orange … so that meant we had to stay inside for a few hours. Today it is really really really windy and very very very cold …. so again we have been laying around the house …

Molly & Charlie

How do you like the new coat HH made for Molly?  It’s very cute isn’t it … well in a girly sort of way!  It has been so cold today we needed to put our coats on.  In fact … I am suprised the camera was able to take this photo clearly … cause the air was soooo thick at the time!

Well .. how do I explain this … we had lamb bones today for the first time  (we usually have beef bones) … and I am fairly sure Molly has never had one before … and … from what I’ve heard My Bi-Peds saying tonight … we may never have them again!!!!!!

Sure … I have been letting a few slip out … but I think Molly must have been running around the yard today with her mouth wide open … cause she has been very windy tonight!!!!  She has been doing silent deadly ones as well as loud ones!!!

Not good when the house is locked up to keep the cold dusty wind out!

However, the good news is, we got to go for an emergency late night walk …

Charlie Daniels

Can you see Molly anywhere in this photo?  No!  That’s because I had to walk a good distance away from her because … well .. you know!

Charlie & Molly

Once she did her business … I was able to walk a bit closer … (I asked TBU to blur a part of this photo so it wasn’t too embarrassing for Molly!)

Charlie & Molly

Then we could walk side by side as we like to do usually.  I know you can’t hear what Molly was saying in the next photo … so I will let her tell you …

Molly

I’m sorry

Back on Earth …

We had a bit of a sleep-in this morning … ’cause we went for a late night walk last night (or was it very early this morning?).  After being locked inside all day yesterday, HH decided we still needed to go for a walk, so we set off sometime after midnight … TBU didn’t seem as enthusiastic about the whole deal, but came for the walk with us anyway!

It was still hard to breathe ’cause the Martian Atmosphere was still hanging around … but it was good to get some exercise!

So … as soon as we were allowed outside his morning, Molly and I immediatley checked the sky to see if we could see the sun today …

Charlie & Molly

We could see the sun and that was really good … but we could hear a strange whistling sound … so we quickly ran to check the rest of the yard and see if we could find out what it was. We also need to do a quick patrol to make sure the Martians hadn’t stolen anything when they invaded yesterday.

Charlie

Everything seemed to be there … but we could still hear a strange noise … so we raced back towards the house … and all of a sudden … bones fell from the sky!  We were being rewarded for being so patient yesterday!

Molly

Look how Molly holds on to her bone so tightly when she chews it.  I am sure she thinks I am going to steal it from her!

Charlie

I’m not that scary am I?

Hi, it’s me Molly Daniels …

Molly

Firstly, I would like to thank everyone who has asked about me.  I am doing OK …  I try to be happy most of the time, but sometimes I just can’t help wondering what happened to my babies …  but it’s OK … a girl has to have something to worry about doesn’t she?

Secondly, I would like to tell you about the adventure Charlie & I had today …

Dust Storm

We pretended we went to Mars … and we did it all without leaving the loungeroom!

Charlie & Molly

In fact, in terms of having an adventure it was rather boring …  we did lots of this …

Molly

… and this …

Charlie Daniels

… and this …

Molly

… and this …

Charlie Daniels

… all because of this …

Dust Storm

Yep .. we weren’t allowed outside all day today … because our world turned to a Mars like atmosphere.  These pics don’t really show how orange everything was outside, because the camera couldn’t quite capture the light properly, but I will show you some other pics later that some friends took …

Well, actually we did go outside twice today so we could take care of business very quickly.  We had to be quick because as soon as we went outside, our eyes started to hurt  and we sorta found it hard to breathe!

So, each time we came back inside, we did some more of this …

Molly

… and this …

Charlie & Molly

Actually, it wasn’t even much better inside. Yesterday Our Bi-Peds spent the day cleaning the house, so it was absolutely spotless … and yet … even though I insisted all the windows and doors should remain closed today, this still happened to everything …

Post Dust Storm

Can you see how everything got covered in orange dirt anyway?  I got TBU to wipe the base of the monitor stand just so you could see the difference!

OK, I may have been exagerating a little bit … we didn’t really pretend we went to Mars .. it’s just that we couldn’t go outside due to a HUGE dust storm (well dirt actually) that covered most of the East Coast of Australia.

I asked TBU to explain it to me … but he got all technical and I didn’t quite understand it. So I am just going to quote something off the internet, so you can see just how bad today was …

“It was an event that began hundreds of kilometres inland. Topsoil from the drought-ravaged west of NSW was stripped from the earth and pushed by huge wind gusts to the east.   The pollution readings have been off the charts for much of the day.

Particle levels in the air are far in excess of any levels measured during bushfires. For example, today measured around 15,000 micrograms per cubic metre as a concentration.  Bushfires would normally get around 500 micrograms per cubic metre, and on a normal day that would be anywhere between 10 and 20, so certainly a significant event.”

Did that make any sense to you?  Okay … let me show you those other photo’s now .. it may help …  these pics where taken by friends and other people …

This was taken by our friend near her place …

My chat with Molly …

September 21st, 2009 Posted in At Home | 7 Comments » No Gravatar

Sometimes I watch Molly when she is all alone and wonder what she is thinking about …

Molly

It’s sorta like she is somehow a bit depressed and longing for something she no longer has …  It has had me a bit worried, so I took some time to ponder it for a while …

Charlie Daniels

It started to get me a bit down, so Moo came and gave me a hug on his way to bed …

Charlie & Moo

BTW – Moo is 155cm tall (or about 5’1″), so you can see here how long I am now!  If you include my tail I am actually longer than Moo is tall!

Anyway .. back to my story … So I thought I would have a sleep on it and chat to Molly in the morning  …

Charlie & Molly

Once Mollly woke up, we put our heads together and I asked Molly what was on her mind and if there was anything I could do to help …  It was all very tiring, so we decided we would both have a think about it, and see if we could come up with a solution …

Charlie & Molly

We stared at the same spot for quite a long time … then all of sudden … we realised … we need HH to help us!

I spoke to HH and told her Molly was missing her kids.  It seems Molly was a Mum very early in her life before she became a part of our family … and she is still missing them …

So … HH did some investigations of her own (she’s good at stuff like that), and did some number crunching with dates and stuff, and by tracing some details via the Animal Rescue organisation we were helping recently, came up with the following …

I think we may have found two of Molly’s Kids!

This is Dakota …

Dakota

and this is Jed

Dude

I wonder if Molly would be happier if she could say hello to her kids again?
