Hi, it’s me Molly Daniels …

Firstly, I would like to thank everyone who has asked about me. I am doing OK … I try to be happy most of the time, but sometimes I just can’t help wondering what happened to my babies … but it’s OK … a girl has to have something to worry about doesn’t she?
Secondly, I would like to tell you about the adventure Charlie & I had today …

We pretended we went to Mars … and we did it all without leaving the loungeroom!

In fact, in terms of having an adventure it was rather boring … we did lots of this …

… and this …

… and this …

… and this …

… all because of this …

Yep .. we weren’t allowed outside all day today … because our world turned to a Mars like atmosphere. These pics don’t really show how orange everything was outside, because the camera couldn’t quite capture the light properly, but I will show you some other pics later that some friends took …
Well, actually we did go outside twice today so we could take care of business very quickly. We had to be quick because as soon as we went outside, our eyes started to hurt and we sorta found it hard to breathe!
So, each time we came back inside, we did some more of this …

… and this …

… and this …

… and this …

Actually, it wasn’t even much better inside. Yesterday Our Bi-Peds spent the day cleaning the house, so it was absolutely spotless … and yet … even though I insisted all the windows and doors should remain closed today, this still happened to everything …

Can you see how everything got covered in orange dirt anyway? I got TBU to wipe the base of the monitor stand just so you could see the difference!
OK, I may have been exagerating a little bit … we didn’t really pretend we went to Mars .. it’s just that we couldn’t go outside due to a HUGE dust storm (well dirt actually) that covered most of the East Coast of Australia.
I asked TBU to explain it to me … but he got all technical and I didn’t quite understand it. So I am just going to quote something off the internet, so you can see just how bad today was …
“It was an event that began hundreds of kilometres inland. Topsoil from the drought-ravaged west of NSW was stripped from the earth and pushed by huge wind gusts to the east. The pollution readings have been off the charts for much of the day.
Particle levels in the air are far in excess of any levels measured during bushfires. For example, today measured around 15,000 micrograms per cubic metre as a concentration. Bushfires would normally get around 500 micrograms per cubic metre, and on a normal day that would be anywhere between 10 and 20, so certainly a significant event.”
Did that make any sense to you? Okay … let me show you those other photo’s now .. it may help … these pics where taken by friends and other people …
This was taken by our friend near her place …

and these were taken by other people …

Double Bay

Bondi Beach

Sydney Harbour Bridge

Sydney Opera House

Luna Park
This storm hung around ALL DAY!!!! I hope we can go outside tomorrow, ’cause I can see this outside and I want to get to it before Charlie does!
